eG Monitor for VMware Infrastructures

The eG Monitor for VMware Infrastructures provides you the outside view of how the virtual machines are using a physical server, but it also provides end to end monitoring of the service delivery infrastructure:

  • Network devices
  • Java applications
  • Exchange servers
  • Load balancers
  • Active directory servers
  • Citrix and terminal servers
  • Web frontend servers Databases
  • Virtualization platforms

The automatic root-cause diagnosis technology evaluates your entire service delivery infrastructure from one end to the other for complete VM Management.

Hyperic HQ

Hyperic HQ provides complete systems manageability by combining a monitoring intelligence portal with an application management platform.

  • Full VMware Server and ESX Support
  • Analyze Utilization and Performance Inside VMs
  • Correlate Events Between Host and Guests
  • Start, Stop and Control all VMs*
  • Easy Setup - Get Started in 20 MinutesHQ's portal enables system administrators to analyze performance metrics from the outside in, from VMware's perspective on how the physical and virtual machines are performing, and from the inside out, from inside the virtual machine and how its operating system, applications, middleware, databases and services are behaving.

OPNET

Cloud Performance Management with OPNET’s APM Xpert Suite
Maintain control of your applications in the cloud. OPNET offers a range of solutions for application performance management across the diverse cloud deployment models. OPNET uniquely integrates information and workflows across application and network performance domains.

Performance management instrumentation is flexible and well adapted to virtualized environments, including agent-based monitoring and virtual appliances to capture vital performance information on servers and on the network. A combination of physical and virtual appliances may be used to monitor end-user experience from outside the cloud.

Benefits:

  • Troubleshoot application performance problems faster
  • Use cloud resources efficiently
  • Verify that the service provider is meeting service level commitments
  • Plan for application deployment in the cloud

Capabilities for Managing Performance in the Cloud:
Cloud deployment models differ in terms of the scope of IT resources that are controlled by the cloud provider versus the user. OPNET solution capabilities support a range of cloud models.

  • Agent-based data collection can be instantiated in the cloud along with server images
  • Virtualized appliances provide visibility in the cloud and among virtual servers
  • Accurate application dependency maps are generated automatically to ensure that the right components are migrated to the cloud
  • Software-based management consoles can be installed in the cloud
  • A combination of passive and active monitoring to support a variety of cloud models
  • Network performance can be measured along any network path to isolate the source of a problem to the cloud provider or your environment

Opsview Enterprise

Opsview Enterprise provides comprehensive monitoring of networks, servers, applications, databases and the Cloud.

  • Customisable dashboards give you instant coverage of system availability and show how problems impact your business processes
  • Leverage our standards compliant datawarehouse and Reports Module to anticipate potential pain-points before they start impacting your customers

Opsview Enterprise provides an array of rich alerting options that allow you to focus your effort where it is needed most:

  • Alert delivery via e-mail, SMS, SNMP traps and other custom interfaces including enterprise social software and leading service desks
  • Basic and advanced escalation rules
  • Event correlation across related systems and auto-suppression of 'flapping' service checks to avoiding alert storms

PRTG Network Monitor

An advanced, easy-to-use monitoring solution for your entire network. The software's features include: up/downtime monitoring, traffic and usage monitoring, packet sniffing, in-depth analysis and concise reporting.

A user-friendly web-based interface allows users to quickly configure the network devices and sensors they wish to monitor. All common methods for network usage data acquisition are supported: SNMP and WMI, Packet Sniffing, and NetFlow. PRTG Network Monitor includes more than 30 sensor types for all common network services (e.g. PING, HTTP, SMTP, POP3, FTP, etc.), allowing users to monitor networks for speed and failures. As soon as an outage occurs, alerts are sent via email, SMS, pager messages and other means. Request times and downtimes are recorded in an internal database, making it easy to compile performance, downtime and SLA reports. PRTG Network Monitor's Freeware Edition is completely free for personal and commercial use. The Commercial Editions are required if you want to monitor more than ten sensors.

Veeam Monitor

Veeam Monitor is an industry-standard for VMware monitoring. It provides a comprehensive, performance-oriented view of your entire virtual infrastructure that complements vCenter Server's administrative console. Unlike some VMware monitors, Veeam Monitor doesn’t introduce its own monitoring framework, so it’s easy to deploy and maintain.

Veeam Monitor leverages Veeam Business View to enable performance monitoring, alerting and reporting for virtual machine groups based on criteria such as business unit, department, location, purpose, service-level agreement or any other criteria you define. This ability to perform business-centric monitoring helps to identify the business impact of a virtual infrastructure’s performance and respond accordingly. It also allows you to create flexible alerts based on known server type characteristics and the potential business impact of an outage for more granular service-level management. You can also create targeted reports showing only the data relevant to specific business units, departments or types of server.

vFoglight

Quest vFoglight offers a single solution for performance monitoring and capacity management of complex VMware ESX and Hyper-V environments. It will help you optimize resources, monitor performance, plan for growth, and allocate costs across virtual, physical, and cloud.

  • Provides ease of use, scalability, and flexibility to support growing and complex environments
  • Delivers deep visibility through detailed architectural representations and out-of-the-box alerts with expert advice for reducing mean-time-to-resolution by at least 75%
  • Supports VMware monitoring and Microsoft Hyper-V monitoring
  • Extends VM and System Admin visibility from the virtual infrastructure to the critical network devices and virtualized workloads
  • Integrates seamlessly with rest of Foglight portfolio so you can consolidate tooling and improve operations team efficiency

vOPS Performance Analyzer

vOPS Performance Analyzer, part of VKernel's vOperations Suite™, uses real-time analysis of system metrics, vCenter alerts and System Center alerts, to determine abnormal trends and root cause, impact, and immediate resolution of slow VM problems.

vOPS Performance Analyzer is unique in its use of advanced analytics to provide actionable remediation steps for VM performance issues (which can be automated in some cases). Using this VM monitoring solution, virtualization administrators are able to quickly solve VM performance problems.
